It is that time of year again when we have the BKA Competition to Design the Bushido Association Calendar for 2025.
Once again, we are very fortunate to have our very own Austin Lafferty judging the competition. As you know Austin is a 4th Dan Black Belt within our Association and an accomplished artist.
For participants it is a combination of great art and great fun. There are few rules (other than create your own original work, don’t copy) and the possibilities are as wide as your imagination. Karate, Japan, Bushido spirit, training, kata, kumite are all good subject matters. You can draw, paint, design, use computer-aided tools. Ideally keep the image to A4 size and do it without dates – those will be added to the winning entries for the final calendar. And remember to clearly include your name, age and where in the Association you train- write on the back of the entry.
There will be a runner up and a winner’s prize.
Closing date for entries is Sunday 1st December – please pass entries to your Sensei. Good luck!”
