The Bushido Karate Association, a revered institution in the martial arts community, is proud to announce its 50th anniversary. One of the oldest Shotokan clubs in Scotland, Bushido Karate Club was founded on 28 April 1974 by Donald MacInnes, at the Muirend Pavillion in the south side of Glasgow. Sensei MacInnes was the Chairman of the Scottish Karate Governing Body (SKGB) until May 2009. The association has dedicated half a century to the teaching and promotion of karate, emphasizing discipline, respect, and physical fitness.

Over the past five decades, Bushido Karate Association has grown from its humble beginnings to become a renowned institution, shaping the lives of countless individuals through the practice of karate. From its inception, the association has been committed to upholding the highest standards of martial arts instruction while instilling valuable life skills in its members. The association remains committed to its mission of promoting karate as a means of self-improvement and a way to contribute positively to society.
